Clear My Record is a trade name of Knowles Law Firm, PLC, a law firm in Mesa, Arizona ("the Firm," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect through clearmyrecord.com and our client portal, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The short version

We only collect what you choose to send us, plus the basic technical information any website receives.
We use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit and which buttons and forms they use. It never receives what you type into our forms, or your quiz answers or result. You can turn it off.
We don't use advertising cookies or advertising pixels.
We don't sell or share your information for advertising.
What you tell us about your record is treated as confidential, even if you don't hire us.

Information you give us

Intake and contact form. Your name, email address, phone number, state, the services you're interested in, and anything you write in the message box.
Eligibility quiz. Your answers stay in your browser while you take the quiz. We receive them only if you choose "Request a call" and send the form; then we receive your answers and the result the quiz showed you, along with your contact details. Our analytics record that the quiz was opened and finished, never your answers or the result.
Waitlist. Your email address, your state, and your phone number if you add it.
Calls and emails. What you tell us when you call or write to us.
Clients. If you hire us, the information and documents for your matter, your signed agreements, and payment records. Card and bank details are handled by our payment processor; we don't store full card numbers.

Information collected automatically

IP address. We store the IP address sent with each form so we can stop spam and abuse.
Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request information, such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested, to run and secure the site.
Site analytics. We use Google Analytics, a service from Google, to understand how people find and use this site: the pages you visit, the site or ad that brought you here, your general location (city level), your device and browser, and actions such as tapping a call button, opening the eligibility quiz, or sending a form. It uses the cookies described below. It never receives what you type into a form, or your quiz answers or result.
How you found us. When you send a form, it includes how you reached this site on that visit: the ad or link you came from (for example, the campaign name, the search keyword, and the click ID Google Ads adds to our web address), the first page you opened, and the website that sent you. We keep this with your request so we know which ads work. It isn't sent to Google Analytics.
Performance measurements. We measure how quickly pages load (for example, load times, device type, and browser). This uses no cookies and no identifier that follows you from visit to visit.

Cookies and storage on your device

This site may store the following on your device:

Analytics cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ZS6T50HV3H, which tell visits from the same browser apart. They last up to two years. They aren't set if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, or if you turn analytics off below.
Your display choice. If you pick Light or Dark at the bottom of the page, your browser remembers that choice (cmr-theme). Picking Auto removes it.
Your analytics choice. If you turn analytics off, your browser remembers that choice (cmr-analytics).
How you found us. While you browse, your browser keeps the ad or link that brought you here (cmr-attribution, in session storage) so a form you send can include it. It's deleted when you close the tab, and nothing leaves your browser unless you send a form.
Sign-in cookies. If you sign in to your client account, we use cookies that keep you signed in. They are needed for the account to work and are not used for anything else.

We don't use advertising cookies, advertising pixels, or session recording.

Turning analytics off

You can stop this browser from sending anything to Google Analytics. The choice applies on this device and browser until you clear its site data. You can also install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.

How we use your information

To respond to your request, review whether we can help, and check for conflicts of interest.
To call or email you about your request or your matter. We don't send text messages from our website forms.
To represent you, if you hire us, and to manage your matter, agreements, and payments.
To tell you when we open in your state, if you joined a waitlist.
To keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and meet our legal and professional obligations.

Confidentiality

The rules that govern lawyers require us to protect information from people who consult us about possibly hiring us, even if they don't. We treat what you send us about your record or your situation that way. Sending it does not by itself make us your lawyers; an attorney-client relationship begins only when you and the Firm sign an engagement agreement.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for targeted or cross-site advertising. We share it only:

With service providers who run our systems for us and may use it only for that purpose: Supabase (database, sign-in, and document storage), Vercel (website hosting and performance measurement), Google (site analytics), Resend (email notifications), our payment processor, our e-signature provider, and our email and office software.
In your matter, with courts, agencies, and others as needed to do the work you hired us for.
When the law requires it, or to protect rights, safety, and property, consistent with our duties as lawyers.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Google Analytics collects information about your activity on this site over time, on our behalf, as described above. We have turned off the Google features that link it to Google accounts or use it for advertising, and we don't track you across other websites. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, Google Analytics does not load and nothing is sent to Google.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiries, quiz answers, and waitlist entries as long as we need them to respond to you, check for conflicts, and meet our record-keeping duties. Client files are kept as required by the rules for lawyers' records and our file retention policy.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and database security rules that limit who can see your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or ask us to stop contacting you, by emailing info@clearmyrecord.com or calling (480) 659-6313. We'll confirm your identity before acting on a request. Some records we must keep for legal or professional reasons; if so, we'll tell you.

State notices

California. You can review and ask us to correct the information you've sent us using the contact details above. We don't share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.
Nevada. We don't sell covered information. You can still send us an opt-out request at info@clearmyrecord.com, and we'll record it.

Children

This site is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you're under 18, please have a parent or guardian contact us with you.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we'll let you know before it takes effect.
